Evangelia Georgia Kostaki holds a bachelor’s degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), a master’s degree in Biostatistics from the School of Medicine and the Department of Mathematics of NKUA, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology from the School of Medicine of NKUA. She serves as a member of the Special Teaching Staff of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, School of Medicine, NKUA.

She has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students of the School of Medicine, NKUA and the Departments of Public & Community Health and Biomedical Sciences of the University of West Attica. Her undergraduate and postgraduate teaching covers the fields of medical statistics, epidemiology-research methodology and preventive medicine-public health. She has supervised or has been a member of the advisory committee of more than 25 MSc theses and has provided scientific support to PhD students in Greece or abroad.

Her research interests focus on the epidemiology and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases (mostly HIV, HCV, HBV, and COVID-19), and on the applications of molecular epidemiology to public health. She has received a “New Investigator” scholarship in the context of NSRF 2014-2020 program and she has actively participated as co-investigator in many national and international research projects. Until June 2024, she had co-authored more than 50 scientific papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and 2 chapters in scientific books. She has more than 160 invited lectures and presentations in national and international scientific conferences. She has received several scholarships to present her work in international conferences. She is an active member of national and international scientific societies, member of the scientific committee of the European network “YING” of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS), member of the global panel of experts for HIV low level viremia guidance of the European Society for Antiviral Resistance (ESAR), and member of the working group focused on Prevention of the Greek “National Action Plan for HIV” (NKUA, Greek Ministry of Health). She has also been member of the scientific committee of national and international conferences, and she is editorial board member and reviewer in international scientific journals.
