Learning objectives

Upon successful completion of the course the post-graduate students are expected to be able to:

  • understand the basic principles of bioethics in research
  • submit a research protocol to a Bioethics Committee
  • acquire information related to bioethical issues in research
  • describe the basic principles of ethics in biomedical research
  • interpret and comprehend bioethical issues in clinical trials, genetic epidemiology studies as well as in the implementation of novel technology
  • comprehend contemporary bioethical issues and controversies
  • interpret bioethical issues in public health
  • describe the basic rules related to bioethics in public health
  • comprehend how decisions by Bioethics Committees are made
