Bioethics in Biomedical Research
Learning objectives
Upon successful completion of the course the post-graduate students are expected to be able to:
- understand the basic principles of bioethics in research
- submit a research protocol to a Bioethics Committee
- acquire information related to bioethical issues in research
- describe the basic principles of ethics in biomedical research
- interpret and comprehend bioethical issues in clinical trials, genetic epidemiology studies as well as in the implementation of novel technology
- comprehend contemporary bioethical issues and controversies
- interpret bioethical issues in public health
- describe the basic rules related to bioethics in public health
- comprehend how decisions by Bioethics Committees are made
Course content
The course introduces students to concepts of ethics in biomedical research. The following topics are covered:

- Current issues in bioethical research
The teaching methods include lectures.
