“Epidemiology – Research Methodology in biomedical sciences, clinical practice and public health“
Epidemiology lays the foundation for the study of disease etiology and prevention. Knowledge of epidemiologic concepts and methods is essential both for the practice of preventive medicine and for the everyday clinical practice. The need to take evidence-based decisions for diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of diseases, and to apply robust methodology for the design, implementation and interpretation of research in the entire spectrum of biomedical sciences, renders the post-graduate training in Epidemiology and Research Methodology an invaluable asset for everyone serving in the field of biomedical sciences, clinical medical practice and public health.
Based on the experience of an internationally renowned faculty in the field of Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine and Public health, this post-graduate Program, which runs in the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2018, aims to provide high quality education, knowledge and skills in Epidemiology-Research Methodology.
Our graduates are trained and equipped to handle public health problems and related issues in the general population and in vulnerable population groups, to identify health risk factors and to design, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of preventive and therapeutic measures, with the ultimate goal of promoting health and well-being at the individual and population level.
