Greek ELIDEK Scholarship awarded to doctoral candidate at the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics
In the context of the “2nd Round of the Greek ELIDEK Scholarships for Doctoral Candidates”, Dr. Charalampos Siotos, MD, a doctoral student at the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics (DHEMS), was awarded a scholarship for his dissertation on “Predictors and prognostic factors of surgical management/reconstruction in patients with breast cancer.” The aim of the thesis is the identification of factors that influence choices of surgical/reconstruction treatment among breast cancer patients, as well as study of the effect of treatment choices on the survival of these patients. The thesis is conducted at DHEMS in collaboration with the Department of Plastic Surgery, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. It is supervised by Prof. P. Lagiou and Assoc. Professors A Naska (DHEMS) and G.D. Rosson (Johns Hopkins School of Medicine).
