
Dr Georgios Marinos has specialised in General Practice/ Family Medicine at theGeneral Hospital of Athens, “Laiko”. He holds a PhD Degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and two Masters Degrees. One from the National School of Public Health and one from the Medical Schoolof the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Cardiac Nursing-Intensive Treatment Units). Since 2009, he has worked in various roles at the Accident & Emergency Department of the General Hospital of Athens, “Laiko”, with the main ones being the Duty Coordinator, the Scientific Manager and finally the Director of the Department. He has served as the Head of the General Practice/Family Medicine Clinic and the Preventive Medicine Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens, “Laiko” and as Head of the Labor Clinic.
Since 2016, he is acting as the Training Coordinator of the General Practice/Family Medicine trainees of the General Hospital of Athens, “Laiko”. He has been a University Scholar and Special Scientist at the 1st University Cardiology Clinic of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at the General Hospital of Athens, “Hippocration” with the subject of General Practice and Preventive Cardiology. For twelve years, he was the Program Manager of the optional compulsory course “General Practice” for the undergraduate students of the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Since 2011, he has been an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Medical Association of Athens and a Doctor of the Social Mission Clinic of NGO “Apostoli” and of the Medical Association of Athens. From January 2021 onwards, he serves as an Assistant Professor of General Practice/ Family Medicine -Preventive Medicine at the Laboratory of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics of the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In January 2021, the Pubmed database listed 32 of his papers. His teaching and research interests focus on GeneralPractice/ Family Medicine , Preventive Medicine and Occupational Medicine.
